TWO SCIENTIFIC APPROACHES
THE RIGHT FIT FOR YOU

BEHAVIOURAL APPROACH

Rob works from an ACT-based perspective, taking a more behavioural stance. He will help you engage in strategies that ensure your behaviours are in line with your values, in spite of any thoughts or feelings that may be holding you back. With the use of techniques such as present moment awareness and committed action Rob helps you turn "I keep failing, I'm not good enough, so I'll just quit" into "I keep failing, I feel like I'm not good enough, because I really want to succeed and improve, therefore I'm going to keep trying even though it's hard". Success starts in your mind!

COGNITIVE APPROACH

Becki works from a more cognitive perspective. In simple terms, this means she works with you to explore how the thoughts you have can impact on the way you feel (emotions) and the things you do do as a result (behaviours). She will support you to understand what thoughts are helpful to bring about more positive emotions (e.g., excitement to play) and behaviours (e.g., not giving up) to help you perform at your best and most importantly, enjoy the sport you love!

HealthKix has expanded my horizons as an athlete by introducing me to performance psychology. This knowledge has been invaluable in helping me feel at ease in the challenging competition environment, which is often hard to replicate.
